I stayed at the Quinta do Lorde Resort for about ten days Madeira and I have to say that I was a bit suspicious at first because the house is comparatively cheap for a five-star resort. I can't quite explain it because the accommodation is luxurious and in many ways very, very pleasant. Perhaps it's because the upscale hotel is in a very remote area of Madeira - in the far east on the headland of Ponta de São Lourenço, which is picturesque and beautiful. What's also exciting is that the hotel consists of several buildings and is modeled on a typical Madeiran village.
The hotel is definitely ideal for anyone looking for peace and seclusion. The downside is that there aren't that many attractions near the Hotel Quinta do Lorde - the island's capital, Funchal, is a 30-minute drive away - and you should definitely book a rental car if you want to get around the island. My personal Hotel Quinta do Lorde experiences
I stayed at the hotel between Christmas and New Year's Eve and had a very pleasant stay. The Quinta do Lorde Resort is comparatively cheap and has an almost ingenious price-performance ratio. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a nice view of the small marina. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
One of the highlights of my stay was the breakfast, which between Christmas and New Year was definitely very good and plentiful. And the food was great in the evenings too: the hotel has its own restaurant that serves excellent Madeiran and international cuisine.
I found the hotel's location off the beaten track on the edge of the headland to be very convenient. In addition, I really liked the marina. You could sit comfortably on the quay wall and watch the ships. Overall I had a great experience at Hotel Quinta do Lorde and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing but also active holiday.

You can also rent kayaks at the hotel and take tours of the peninsula. You should definitely like the isolation, because you are already relatively far away from the beaten track and need a rental car if you want to discover the island.

At the Hotel Quinta do Lorde, travelers will find all conceivable amenities and facilities that make a holiday in Madeira particularly pleasant. The hotel has several swimming pools on different levels, a tennis court, a spa and a fitness center.
Overall, Hotel Quinta do Lorde is a good choice for those looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday. The hotel offers excellent hotel amenities, amenities and service and the food is excellent. However, if you want a livelier holiday and want to go out in the evenings, you might want to choose another hotel closer to the capital, Funchal.
One of the main reasons why a stay at Hotel Quinta do Lorde is so special is the magnificent, picturesque location and views. A whole range of amenities such as slippers, bathrobe, hair dryer, bathtub and shower await you. The rooms and suites are spread over several buildings in the relatively large hotel complex.
Restaurant
I think breakfast is particularly important on vacation because it gives you a good start to the day. The breakfast buffet was very impressive and offered a wide selection of hot and cold options. The hotel's main restaurant was excellent, serving a mix of international and local dishes. There are a total of three restaurants and three bars.
Hot Tub
The hotel has a small but well-equipped spa with a sauna, steam room, and massage services. The treatments are not cheap but they are very good. Beauty treatments and a solarium are also available.
Polish
The hotel has two large, multi-level outdoor pools (one is an infinity pool), one of which is heated. There is also a pool for children. There is also a pool area right by the sea with a natural stone pool by the sea which is very beautiful and offers a wonderful view of the sea. In addition to the pool there is also a rocky beach area.

Hotel Quinta do Lorde reviews compared to my experiences
Overall, Hotel Quinta do Lorde receives excellent reviews from guests. The hotel is highly rated for its comfortable rooms, friendly staff, good food and stunning views. The only downside is that it's in a very remote area with not that many attractions. Personally, I would agree with the following review on HolidayCheck:

All dishes are fresh and very attractively prepared. Delicious! Good table service. The facility is clean and is spotted on. Good hiking opportunities from the hotel in various categories. The pool is very nice with sea water and from there it goes directly into the sea. The room is fabulous with a sea view during the day and the sound of the sea at night. Safe and bath towels are included. No mass processing, very personal and very good. insider tip. We will come back!

However, many buildings are empty (holiday apartments and houses could not be rented).
Therefore, not all restaurants were open during our stay and not all pools were serviced.
Apart from that the property is nicely built, the rooms are very comfortable and spacious, can't fault it.
Breakfast and dinner take place in large halls. Because of the many people it is rather noisy and the quality of the food at the buffet leaves a lot to be desired.
At that time there were a few French tour groups there who were on an all-inclusive club holiday at the hotel. Accordingly, the audience was there.
The organization at the sunbathing area by the sea wasn't very successful either.
Overall it was a nice stay if you knew how to help yourself.
The complex is very nicely built, the location is remote but very beautiful.
However, things don't seem to be going as planned and the staff wasn't great. Therefore I can only recommend it conditionally.
You can take boat tours from the marina, which were fun.
Own car is required.
