What can I tell you? There are probably three things that define me: I've been writing texts since I could hold a pen. I've been traveling since I could walk. And I am so curious and full of thirst for knowledge that I always go through life with my eyes open, my ears pricked up and a sensitive instinct. That doesn't sound like much at first.

But for me and my work it's an unbeatable combination. A triad that gets me through life. And the best prerequisite for one Travel Blog to write, right? However, it would be a long way to get here. It's the dots you connect that make sense when you look back. I traveled a lot as a child, but in a distinct way wanderlust I never had.

My love of traveling didn't really take off until I was a teenager, when I started... Diving started. After I got my Open Water Diver (diving license) as a teenager, my passion for the world's oceans was immediately awakened. And I wanted to discover them all – from north to south, from east to west. I suddenly had a reason to travel - and it pulled me out into the world like a magnet!

Traveling in the world with endless curiosity

The thrill of deep diving in Malta, exciting shark diving in the Maldives, exploring colorful coral reefs in Southeast Asia and mystical wreck diving in Egypt - the sea captivated me deeply and has never let go to this day. Especially the large fish and sea mammals, which always amaze me. The sharks, dolphins and whales. And turtles. And the manatee.

I was a late bloomer when it came to traveling

It all sounds so beautiful. I was originally a late bloomer when it came to traveling. I have never done a student exchange. For a long time my horizons stretched from Hamburg to the Mediterranean – and that was enough for me. At the tender age of 19 I discovered diving and from then on I spent a lot of time Egypt, Greece, Italy, Malta and Majorca.

Back then, I invested every penny in my diving training and equipment, so long trips to America or Asia initially seemed unattainable and unaffordable.

Nothing could stop my desire to travel

But that never stopped me. Come to think of it, nothing has ever stopped my desire to travel. Stéphane Etrillard once said: “If you want to lead a magnificent life, define the wonderful as your everyday aspiration, instead of experiencing it as pure coincidence.” And that’s exactly what I did: It wasn’t until my mid-20s that I began to look beyond my European horizons to be enchanted by the beauty and diversity of the world. As soon as I get the wanderlust and the Wanderlust packed, there was no stopping them.

If you want to lead a magnificent life, define the wonderful as your everyday aspiration instead of experiencing it as pure coincidence.

I often found myself thinking about the next one Travel planned while still lingering on a destination. And so began the travel planning for the most exciting and fulfilling time of my life, during which I had the privilege of visiting numerous amazing destinations around the globe.

Inspiration found in small and large ways

In every corner of the world, no matter how remote, I found inspiration, adventures and stories worth telling. With every step I took into foreign countries and cultures, my passion for it grew Journeys and the writing of travel reports about my experiences and adventures.

Today I share this enthusiasm and knowledge with you to inspire and support you on your own journeys. Together we will discover the most beautiful places in the world in lively reports, be enchanted by breathtaking experiences and collect unforgettable memories.

I finally started the travel blog Just-Wanderlust.com on July 1, 2016, after graduating from university. During this time I was Editor at diving magazine and was able to combine my passion for diving and traveling there too.

Many travel blogs had already existed for years at that time and I asked myself: Does the world really need another travel blog? The answer came late, but it was clear: yes, sure!

Because if you have a voice and something to say, then it is your duty to express it. And certainly writing is my expression. I'm not a good speaker and don't cut a good figure in front of the camera. But I can articulate my thoughts by writing them down. I never needed to start without having a vision for Just Wanderlust. The best travel blogs have a goal and an idea of ​​the future. I want my magazine to become one of the largest and most widespread in the German-speaking world. This is not megalomania. This is possible through continuous writing and constant development. But what drives me on this path?

It is the desire to positively change the lives of as many people as possible. If someone is inspired by me to book the trip, do a little more for their health with a smartwatch or think about how to look after their comfort zone then my contributions make a difference in the lives of my readers. And that's really something.

Share stories

I want to share my stories, tips, experiences and recommendations with my readers to help them better understand and appreciate the world. I want to help them achieve their dreams and explore the world with open arms and a curious mind. I can't help but do everything I can to make a difference with my reports and stories.

So that’s me – but never alone

As I write about myself, I realize once again that I am on the right path. The road is rocky and challenging, the writing is very busy and the results are sometimes disproportionate - but if I want to find fulfillment, I have to find it in interaction with others. Finding the expression in a travel blog is not always easy.

And that's why I'm more than grateful for all the people who accompany me on my journey every day, who cheer me on, encourage me and push me to take the next steps. Without these wonderful people none of this would be possible. I am deeply grateful and humbled by all the good people in my life.
