Nature trips - on adventure holidays with animals and nature

The rainforest is not only the green lung of the planet, it is also a fascinating ecosystem of plants and animals. Hardly any place on earth is teeming with life as it is in the jungle. The rainforests of this earth are located around the equator, where the sunlight is high and the rainfall is also high. Here life is in constant change and is still so real and authentic beyond any civilization.

For anyone who wants to escape their stressful everyday life, a nature trip is a great option. A vacation for animal lovers is possible in many places around the world. Whether whale watching in the Canary Islands, in the Indonesian rainforest with monkeys, swimming with dolphins and turtles in Egypt, diving with sharks in the Maldives, a flying visit to the alligators in the Everglades in Florida or visiting the sea lion colonies in South Africa .

A vacation for animal lovers is something very special and breathtaking. You really don't need to be a birdwatcher to plan exciting wildlife viewing trips. You will often come across the animals as if by themselves when you are on a beach vacation or adventure vacation and take a look around your travel destination. An adventure holiday with animals will stay in your memory for a long time. Basically, as with all other types of vacations and travel topics, the following applies: Anything that brings you joy and doesn't harm the animals is allowed.

Experience animals in the tropics – combine an exotic nature holiday with adventure

Wildlife watching while traveling is fun anywhere in the world. You don't have to be Darwin or a qualified biologist to be able to engage intensively with nature and the animal world. Only curiosity and interest should be present in order to create a real holiday for animal lovers. Animals simply make a trip special. And if you want to see many animal species, you should really travel to the tropical regions of the rainforests because the biodiversity is particularly high there. Whether in the Amazon region in South America or in Southeast Asia in Thailand, Vietnam or Indonesia, you can observe animals in their natural habitat in many places around the world.

Florida alligators encounter in the wild

One of the highlights for animal lovers is to meet alligators in Florida. The lizards are found there in many places and especially in the Everglades National Park you can find the animals in the wild without fence and protection. A truly spectacular experience of having a real alligator that looks like the time of the dinosaurs.

Of course, one should exercise extreme caution and keep a distance from the animals. But allgators in Florida are not to be confused with crocodiles. The much smaller lizards are not keen on humans as prey - crocodiles are more likely to strike. And not only alligators are native to the Everglades National Park. In addition to many species of birds here is also the Florida Puma at home, a critically endangered modification of the Cougar.

Wildlife in Thailand – the jungle is alive

Hardly anywhere in the world has the tropical wildlife in the rainforest enjoyed us as much as in Thailand. You can really say: everything lives. In many ways, Europeans feel a little uncomfortable when we are met by huge insects or spiders or we are stung by millions of mosquitoes. But the hardships pay off and good preparation prevents the worst. The Wildlife in Thailand is so fascinating that you will be compensated immediately.

On the other hand, in many places you can discover exotic animals such as monkeys or monitor lizards that simply climb out of the bushes on the road. Elephants are also common. However, in Thailand these are often marketed for tourist purposes and have to suffer. As a holidaymaker, you can visit nature parks and reserves, for example, where the animals can live happily and in a species-appropriate manner. In Thailand This is (among many others) the Khao Sok National Park near Khao Lak, where all the original beauty of the jungle comes into its own.

And in a certain sense, the rainforest in Thailand is also under water. Huge schools of fish live on wonderfully colorful coral reefs and you can meet many marine animals such as turtles, manta rays and more Sharks in Thailand to go diving.

Experience monkeys in Indonesia up close

It was also a really exciting experience to observe monkeys in the wild in the jungle on the Indonesian island of Lombok. The animals can simply be admired there in the rainforest. In the monkey forest near Senggigi, the animals can be admired in the wild. But this experience is fascinating and sad at the same time.

Also in Indonesia there is a big garbage problem and you can see how the monkeys play in the forest with the garbage. In addition, caution is required. The animals have no fear of humans at all and can be very aggressive when they feel threatened or bored. One should therefore be very careful, if one is to the animal observation with the monkeys in Indonesia.

Safari in Africa – so close to the predators of the savannah

We have not done that yet, but it's high on our bucket list. A holiday in many African countries such as South Africa, Namibia, Mozambique, Botswana or Kenya can be wonderfully combined with a safari in the savannah. This is certainly a world-changing experience for the tourists. Because you can interact in the wild with elephants, lions and many other animals of the savannah up close. A nature trip can hardly be more exciting!

Diving with sharks – a high-voltage experience worldwide

We at Just Wanderlust are known to be divers. And one of our highlights when diving is with sharks to go diving. We have already been diving with sharks in the Maldives, discovered sharks in Thailand and sharks were also present in the Red Sea when we went on our diving tours. Many people are afraid of sharks.

Until they were in the water with the animals for the first time and saw what graceful and peaceful animals sharks usually are. For example, you could plan a diving trip as a nature trip and animal observation trip and get up close and personal with the large predatory fish of the sea. A special highlight is cage diving with great white sharks in Guadeloupe or South Africa. If you're really looking for an adrenaline rush, you should definitely get into the water with a huge great white shark.

Arctic – whale watching in wild nature

A nature trip of a different kind is a cruise to Norway on a whale watching tour. A unique adventure to snorkel or dive with killer whales and discover the giant marine mammals in their natural habitat from a cruise ship. Guaranteed to be a nature trip of a special kind, delivered to the elements like no other place and at the same time surrounded by huge majestic orcas or other whales.

Antarctica – visiting the penguins

The Antarctic is at the other end of the world. Away from Germany could hardly be a destination. The huge land area at the South Pole is practically uninhabited by humans. And that's why she is so well suited for a nature trip. At the end of the world you can discover untouched nature that hardly anyone has seen, penguins, seabirds and whales. An animal watching trip to the Antarctic is probably one of the most extraordinary experiences imaginable.

Galapagos – The ultimate in wildlife viewing trips

At the end, the absolute highlight. Probably the most beautiful nature trip in the world goes to the Galapagos Islands. This archipelago is one of the last great natural paradises in the world. In the Galapagos Islands, you can mostly see exotic animals that only occur there and nowhere else in the world. There live around the world famous giant tortoises.

There are also Galapagos penguins and iguanas, which can also swim and dive. You can observe sea lions on many islands. And underwater, in a real natural paradise, huge schools of fish and, above all, many shark species that are native to the Galapagos Islands await you. A nature trip to the Galapagos is probably one of the best things that is possible in terms of travel. However, you should take care of your travel finances in good time - a holiday on the Galapagos is anything but cheap.

How exciting is it to observe wild animals and discover exotic plants on a nature trip while on vacation. Especially near the equator, the vegetation and wildlife is incredibly rich in different species. That's why we recommend a trip to the tropics to observe animals and gain completely new impressions. But of course the wildlife and plant life on the rest of the planet is so unique and wonderful that you should really think about spending your next vacation off the beaten track on a nature trip in the wilderness.
