At least that’s how many imagine the perfect world of travel influencers and travel bloggers on Instagram. But what is really about the supposedly perfect appearance? Which are the best travel Instagram channels? I have put together all the useful information for you with a travel influencer list, tips on becoming a travel influencer, my personal experiences and all the facts about travel bloggers on Instagram.
Some adore them, follow them and let themselves be carried away by them holiday tips and influence recommendations, while others regard them as overpaid good-for-nothings who can do nothing and constantly and completely unjustifiably to the most beautiful places in the world Travel: Travel influencers with their high-reach Instagram channels divide opinions. People see through staged or overly promotional content, so make sure you share your experiences and tips honestly. Try to network with other travelers and collaborate on content with them, as this will help you build trust with your audience.
Niche influencers vs. general interest
Unfortunately, no survey has so far revealed how many of these influencers specialize in travel and vacations. In the best case, the so-called travel influencers share valuable inspiration on travel destinations, sights, hotels and many other recommendations, for example on ecological travel and sustainable holidays, with their followers. In the worst case, the travel Instagram channel degenerates into an infomercial that only advertises products and services.
Even if it doesn't seem so at first glance, nano influencers and micro influencers in particular are an important group for advertisers and for company campaigns. Because while the macro influencers and mega influencers tend to focus on general interest topics and have a rather heterogeneous target group of followers, many of the small accounts have focused on very specific, narrow niches with corresponding target groups - ideal for companies from the respective industry, to reach fewer but more suitable people. Many advertisers who prefer to work with smaller publishers have long recognized this.
In addition, many small influencers run their own blogs internally, which are also aimed at very specific target groups. You should therefore take a very close look at which influencers reach which target groups on which online channels.
– My personal experience with travel influencers
My personal Instagram experience is that there are both: Very high-quality social media channels from which you can take a lot of valuable information, tips and ideas that are really enriching. And that there are other channels that have simply degenerated into a complete infomercial, sometimes doing hair-raising advertising and offering little added value.
Of course, travel influencers and their followers have to decide for themselves how much advertising is tolerable. If the commercial on TV is ten minutes long, the users also switch off. And this is where a term appears for the first time that will play an even greater role in this paper: added value.

I think those who despise travel influencers often have a bit of envy at play as well. You read so much about Instagram influencers who are for Advertorials and collect four- or five-figure sums of money per mail and are constantly invited on trips while jetting through world history in business class. But the truth, as is so often the case, is very different:
There are certainly a few lifestyle and travel influencers who collect large amounts and are constantly on the go. However, most influencers are so-called micro influencers (43 percent, i.e. almost two million Instagram users), who receive between 50 and 1000 euros for a post or sometimes even just get a free product to test . A life in the lap of luxury certainly looks different.
As you can see, not all that glitters is gold. Most travel influencers are micro-influencers (my accounts too, by the way) and the earning potential is correspondingly lower. I will introduce you to really good channels of travel influencers in the course of this article. And what is the difference between travel influencers and travel bloggers on Instagram. So much can be revealed in advance: Yes, there is a difference.
Benefits of being a travel influencer
There are many benefits of becoming a travel influencer. For example, you can explore different places and cultures around the world while also having the opportunity to earn money. You can also make many connections with different brands, companies and other influencers in the industry. You can also grow your following and establish yourself as an expert in the travel industry by providing valuable content to your audience.
Disadvantages of being a travel influencer
The job of travel influencer may seem glamorous, but it also has its downsides. Maintaining your online presence and constantly coming up with new content ideas that will delight your followers can be difficult. Also, constantly traveling and supporting your lifestyle can get expensive. Finally, the competition in the industry is fierce and it can be difficult to stand out from the crowd

Travel Influencers vs. Travel Bloggers on Instagram – Is There a Difference?
Yes, there can be a difference between travel influencers and travel bloggers. While the former must have at least one social media account - often an Instagram account - travel bloggers can also get by without a presence on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and Co. So how exactly do they differ? I once tried my hand at a travel influencer definition and travel blogger on Instagram definition.
– Definition Travel Influencer
A travel influencer is a publisher with at least one social media channel such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or TikTok that focuses on the subject areas Destinations, Vacation, Hotels, attractions and lifestyle. Travel influencers have at least 1000 followers who are very interested in the topics covered and who interact as actively as possible with the influencer. They post photos, videos, do live streams and sometimes have longer and more meaningful texts in their photo descriptions. – Definition travel blogger on Instagram
A travel blogger on Instagram is a travel blogger who works alongside their own Blog also operates a social media channel such as Instagram. However, the main focus of travel bloggers is on their blog, where they usually publish longer, editorial blog posts that have a very high information content and are peppered with photos, videos and much more information.
