On my last visit to Egypt, I went back to Marsa Alam after a long time and spent two relaxed weeks there on an all-inclusive vacation. From my time at TAUCHEN Magazin, I had a very special resort in mind for Marsa Alam: the notorious Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort, which should be ideal for diving, snorkeling, sunbathing and relaxing. Top ratings on Google, HolidayCheck and Booking.com made us sit up and take notice - so we booked the hotel vacation. And how was it there? What can we do here? I have put together the most important information about the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort reviews and experiences for you.
This much can be revealed in advance: We had a somewhat bumpy start with the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort – an all-inclusive, worry-free hotel. After our almost 12-hour journey from Hamburg, we arrive there completely exhausted, while the holidaymakers sip cocktails to their hearts' content, dance to thumping bass on the terrace and some have already drunk a lot to their thirst. And things don't get any better when a drunk holidaymaker falls down in the lobby and the ambulance has to come.
As I said: We had a somewhat difficult start with the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort - and that's why it could only get better - and it did - really significantly better - as you can see in the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort reviews and experiences you will read.

Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort reviews & experiences - my first impression
And it doesn't get any better in the room either: the toilet door is stuck, the bed is divided into two rock-hard single beds and the view is straight onto the fence that runs around the Three Corners Fayrouz Resort - on which there is also a pile of plastic waste from the wind is blown. So that's it for our summer vacation in Egypt November until beginning December? What about all the positive Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort reviews on the internet? Because the Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort is recommended everywhere.
You can certainly imagine that the first impression deceived us a little. When I step onto the terrace in my bathing suit the next morning, the sun is already shining in a bright blue sky, the temperature is relaxed at 22 degrees Celsius and behind the fence is not far away the Red Sea and the impressive marina of Port Ghalib. We have partial ocean views and a very short walk to Relax Beach, which is significantly smaller and quieter than the resort's main beach.
So you can be wrong - we are directly happy about the positive turn. After a small note at the reception, the room will be straightened up by three friendly hotel employees with Egyptian hospitality and the single beds are also history very quickly. Time to have a hearty breakfast, pack the beach bag and blast into the scorching summer sun. There can dem Beach vacation (tips) nothing to stand in the way, right?

Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort – experiences from us
The Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort is essentially a small town unto itself -- the four-star property has 471 rooms and suites spread across sprawling grounds. The resort hosts many guests who come from very different countries - especially Germany, France, the Netherlands, Belgium and Eastern Europe. Unfortunately, at least some of the hotel rooms and the gardens are getting a bit old and appear to be in need of renovation. There are four restaurants in total, with a main buffet restaurant and three a la carte restaurants.
Rooms
Standard category rooms are functional and perfectly fine if you don't spend much time in the room anyway. The rooms are equipped with bathroom, hairdryer, air conditioning, minibar, safe and television. Unfortunately, the beds are partially pushed apart. You then have to ask the staff to make a double bed out of two single beds.
In principle, a renovation would be appropriate. You can tell that - at least in our room - but other guests seem to see it similarly, the furnishings are a bit outdated. There was also small damage and problems in the room, but they were fixed immediately by the front desk and technicians. If you have a problem, the service is super courteous and helpful.
Restaurants
We really liked the food at Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort - you can tell by the fact that we've put on quite a few pounds after our all-inclusive vacation. Dinner consists of different themed evenings such as "Taste of Italy", "Around the World", "Wonders of the Far East", "French Romance", "Oriental Night" or "European Buffet" - there really is a few for every taste delicacies included.
The only snag: The Panorama Buffet Restaurant (main restaurant) can get packed at times and is generally very lively if you come at peak times. As an all-inclusive guest, you get vouchers to eat twice a week in the a la carte restaurant Chez Pascal or Lagoona Restaurant.
Service
We found the service in the hotel to be very good. The employees try very hard, are friendly and the atmosphere is informal. Especially if you see employees more often, they are really very open and take care of them in detail.
Requests and difficulties can easily be addressed to the reception of the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort. The friendly employees work very solution-oriented to help.
Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort - my experiences - strengths and weaknesses
I have put together my Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort experiences for you, divided into strengths and weaknesses. I'm trying to give you as differentiated an overall picture as possible of the Marsa Alam Hotel, which is of course also very subjective. Nevertheless, this, in combination with the other reviews, can show you the tendency towards this resort. All in all, I would recommend a vacation at Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort - especially given the value for money.
Strengths – attractive hotel complex
- The Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort has a very attractive hotel complex with a pretty garden and an attractive pool area on several levels.
- The staff is very friendly and informal - from the reception to the waiters to housekeeping, they really do their best to look after the guests.
- The Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort has a very good buffet restaurant - every evening there is a very varied buffet with very different dishes - Egyptian and international - as well as several a la carte restaurants. At the Beach Restaurant, all-inclusive guests receive delicious lunches with meat dishes, pizza, fries and drinks at noon.
- The hotel's Relax Beach is a really beautiful and quiet beach where you can spend the whole day.
- The resort's house reef is very beautiful with lots of colorful corals - you can also meet sea turtles and blue-spotted rays on the seagrass meadows in the lagoon.
- Marsa Mubarak Bay with the manatee is about a kilometer away on foot. In the opposite direction, the small harbor town of Port Ghalib can be reached in about one kilometer.
Weaknesses – some in need of renovation
- Large parts of the hotel complex are in need of renovation - this includes cosmetic renovations to the buildings, rooms, the gardens and the small pool. Sometimes a little color would have done it.
- At dinner in the buffet restaurant there is sometimes a large crowd and sometimes a bit of chaos.
- Some guests behave quite loudly and inappropriately, drink bottles of hard alcohol during the day and do not follow simple, basic rules of social interaction. In addition, some vacationers use the all-inclusive with the alcoholic drinks to really pour themselves.

Travel pictures Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort – impressions from the hotel

Holidays at the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort: tips for excursions and leisure activities
In the Marsa Alam region around the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort you can do a lot of leisure activities or visit the sights of Egypt. Therefore, when booking your vacation at Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort and your Marsa Alam trip, you should plan a few more days - especially for that Diving and snorkeling, but also some excursion possibilities. I have put together the most important Marsa Alam leisure activities for you.
1. Diving and snorkeling at Three Corners Fayrouz's house reef
Scuba diving and snorkeling are absolute musts for holidaymakers vacationing in the region, as the true splendor of the Red Sea lies beneath the surface of the water. There is some wonderful diving in the region and access some of the most beautiful dive sites in the Red Sea.
With the local diving schools, which are usually located in each hotel and resort, you can go on scuba diving excursions, full-day and half-day dive boat tours, as well as shore dives. The dive centers in Marsa Alam are often under European management. You can get your diving license there with PADI or SSI. The Red Sea is the ideal place to start scuba diving because of the excellent diving conditions.
The highlight of the resort, however, is the hotel's own house reef of the Three Corners Fayrouz, which is one of the most beautiful in the area and takes you into a fascinating underwater world. You have the opportunity to snorkel outside at the fringing reef. Fayrouz's house reef stretches hundreds of meters along the left and right shoulders in front of the resort. You can really go on a discovery tour there.
House reef indoor area for beginners
Of course there is a chance that you will also meet big fish there. When the weather conditions aren't so favourable, The Three Corners Fayrouz house reef also has an indoor area - a languna covered in coral on the outside. This protected area is also particularly suitable for beginners. In addition, this beautiful house reef also has a shallow area of sea grass that is home to a large turtle. Snorkeling or Diving? It's your choice!
Whether snorkeling or diving, you can try both at the resort's house reef. Even while snorkeling you can admire the many colorful corals and fish that cavort right in front of your nose. With a bit of luck you will even see larger sea creatures such as blue spotted rays, sea turtles or barracudas, which are very rarely seen.
Diving at the Fayrouz house reef
If you want to dive deeper into the sea, you can sign up with the diving school at the resort and book a beginner or advanced course. The experienced diving instructors will take you to the best spots on the reef and show you a breathtaking underwater world with even more corals and fish.
The house reef is an experience at any time of the day, a visit in the early morning is particularly worthwhile. Then the waves are not that strong and there are fewer snorkelers and divers in the water, which increases your chances of spotting different species of animals. Let yourself be enchanted by the house reef of The Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort and experience an unforgettable holiday on the Red Sea!
2. Go swimming and soak up the sun on the beach
If you don't spend your time snorkeling, you can just linger a bit in the crystal clear and lukewarm water or find a beach chair at Relax Beach. There is quite a lot of hustle and bustle on the main beach - so we avoided it. But if you go to the small bays in good time in the morning, you can secure a lounger there. Since people start reserving loungers as early as XNUMX a.m., you have no choice but to do the same if you want to get one of the coveted spots.
3. A visit to the manatee in Marsa Mubarak
The Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort has one major advantage: it is only about 500 meters from Marsa Mubarak Bay, where a manatee permanently resides. If you are on holiday in the hotel, you should definitely grab your snorkel gear and paddle out in the bay. Early morning or late afternoon is again recommended, as there are an incredible number of excursion boats in the bay during the day and dozens of snorkelers in the water. Finding the manatee is really a matter of luck. But if you live in the hotel right next door, you can try several times. We were lucky enough to have one this time Manatee in Egypt to see and it was just amazing experience.
4. Swimming and snorkeling with turtles and dolphins
Turtles can be found everywhere in the Marsa Alam region. There are so many of the reptiles there that almost every time you snorkel and dive you can see an animal or animals. I love sea turtles and have seen hundreds over the years while diving. Nevertheless, I still get as happy as a little kid when I see a turtle in the water.
It's a little harder Swim with dolphins in Egypt. These fascinating marine mammals are also common in the Marsa Alam region. However, the animals are often visited by far too many excursion boats and harassed by dozens of snorkelers. Of course, this has nothing to do with sustainable tourism. If you want to swim or snorkel with dolphins, you should go ahead Place Visit a reputable diving school and ask about their experiences.
Surely the dive center can plan a day trip with you to watch dolphins. Even if you're not a diver, you can also go on a day boat. Dolphins often accompany the boats on the trip - and while the divers are in the water you can go snorkeling.
4. Trip to a secluded beach
Remote, idyllic beaches such as Marsa Aassalaia north of Marsa Alam, where you can bathe, swim, snorkel and scuba dive, are common all along the west coast of the Red Sea. In your hotel and resort as well as in dive centers and water sports centers you will find experienced experts who can plan excursions with you and show you the most beautiful bays in the region. There you often have much more privacy than on the hotel beach and can enjoy the originality of the Red Sea even more.
5. Quad tour in the desert
You should have experienced a quad tour through the terrain and through the middle of the desert at least once in Egypt. With the companions, you really step on the gas in the field until the dust fogs your visor. During the tour you often visit a Bedouin tribe and stop there for tea. If you like it a little less action-packed, you can also go on a jeep safari. With the off-road vehicle in the desert you certainly have more range and get further into the desert. Of course, there are also longer tours where you spend the night in the desert.
6. Sunset camel ride on the coast
Another exciting experience is a camel tour, which often leads into the desert or along the coast. It's a bit more leisurely than driving a quad. Sunset excursions in particular are of course very romantic and ideal for couples. But of course families in particular also get their money's worth on a camel tour.
7. Excursion to Marsa Alam, Port Ghalib and El Quseir
Many vacationers stay in their hotels and resorts because they fear for security in Egypt. Of course that's nonsense. One should not travel to a country where one would not even leave the hotel complex. If you are on holiday in the Marsa Alam region, you can of course also go on excursions to the surrounding towns - Marsa Alam, El Quseir and Port Ghalib in particular are ideal.
8. Major excursions from Marsa Alam within Egypt
I've been to Egypt about a dozen times - and on some trips I've gotten a bit bored - maybe because diving in certain areas wasn't as interesting as originally thought. You can then definitely go on longer trips within Egypt to the pyramids, to Cairo or to other regions of the country. However, you should plan these tours together with a reputable tour operator to ensure the safest and smoothest possible process.
1. Wadi El Gemal National Park
Wadi El Gemal National Park is one of three major national parks in Egypt. It is located south of Marsa Alam. Many different species of animals live here – including free-roaming camels and wild monkeys. In the mangrove forests There are many bird species in the extensive park. Wadi El Gemal also extends to the Red Sea. There are extensive seagrass meadows. When snorkeling and diving in the national park, a particularly large number of manatees, sea turtles and fish species can be observed.
2. Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza
If you love Egypt as a travel destination and have been to the land of the pharaohs and pyramids before, sooner or later you just have to take a trip to Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza. The city of Cairo is a huge juggernaut with over 20 million inhabitants. The Nile runs right through the center and there are a number of historical buildings as well as the American University and the Egyptian Museum. From Marsa Alam, Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh you can reach the capital of Egypt by intercity bus or, more conveniently, by one Domestic flight in Egypt .
3. Visit to Sharm El Sheikh and Sinai
From Hurghada and Marsa Alam you can also fly comfortably and cheaply by domestic flight in new, modern aircraft to Sharm El Sheikh and discover the seaside resort at the southern tip of Sinai. The small resort is a bit more dignified and luxurious than the western Red Sea. There are also excellent hotels and beautiful beaches where you can swim, swim and to go diving can. You can also take a trip to the small town of Dahab, which is a little further north on the Gulf of Aqaba.
4. Discover the Temples of Luxor
Luxor is a city on the east bank of the Nile in southern Egypt. Ancient Thebes - the capital of the pharaohs during the heyday of their power - was once located on the territory of today's city. There are various temples from this period between the 16th and 11th centuries BC: the Luxor Temple and the Karnak Temple, which is located two kilometers outside the city. In addition, near Luxor are the royal tombs in the Valley of the Kings, which lies on the west bank of the Nile. Even beyond the temples, the lively metropolis on the Nile is well worth seeing.
5. Aswan in the very south
The city of Aswan, after which the famous dam is named, can be reached relatively easily from Marsa Alam. The distance is about 370 kilometers and can be easily covered with a minibus on well-developed roads. Aswan is an Egyptian city on the east bank of the Nile. It has about 281.000 inhabitants and is the fourth largest city in Upper Egypt after Luxor, Asyut and Fayyum.
Incidentally, our vacation in the hotel was paid for entirely by ourselves – we received neither discounts nor benefits in kind from the resort or third parties. My opinion of the accommodation and my experience of the Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort are completely my own and not influenced by outsiders.

Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort: Reviews & Experiences
My conclusion
All in all, the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort is a great hotel with an excellent price-performance ratio. We spent more than two weeks there and were very satisfied overall. The hotel basically has many strengths and weaknesses. The extensive hotel complex is very good, the Relax Beach, the house reef and the lagoon, the delicious buffet and the main pool.
The hotel's general need for renovation is a little less nice, and above all the behavior of some guests, some of whom pour themselves heavily with the all-inclusive alcohol during the day and misbehave - and by that I mean really pour heavily. All in all, I would definitely recommend the Three Corners Fayrouz Plaza Beach Resort and would vacation there again myself.
