Mauritius, a true paradise on earth, rises majestically from the turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean. Surrounded by endless sandy beaches, lined with palm trees and lush tropical vegetation, this island captivates countless travelers year after year. But where on this enchanting island is it? most beautiful place? This is a difficult question to answer because, as we all know, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Nevertheless, I would like to share my personal impressions and experiences with you and help you discover the most fascinating regions, beaches and hotels in Mauritius. To get straight to the point: Mauritius offers a wealth of paradisiacal places spread across the entire island. The luxurious resorts and charming boutique hotels lie in harmonious unity with their surroundings and offer unique holiday experiences on every coast.

Basically, everywhere in Mauritius is very beautiful - the entire island is a paradise on earth. But as it happens, there are places that are simply enchanting: In my opinion, the northwest of Mauritius near Trou aux Biches and Grand Baie is the most beautiful region of Mauritius. I can only warmly recommend a holiday in this area.

The island can be roughly divided into four coasts

The north coast impresses with its rugged cliffs and breathtaking views of the endless sea. One of the most beautiful beaches in this region is Grand Baie, which not only impresses with its fine sand and crystal clear water, but also offers lively nightlife and first-class restaurants. Here you can enjoy sunsets in a class of their own, while the silhouette of the offshore islands can be seen on the horizon.

Characterized by pristine beaches and secluded coves, the east coast is the perfect retreat for those seeking tranquility and seclusion. An absolute highlight is the beach at Belle Mare, whose snow-white sand gracefully nestles against the turquoise sea. Here you can leave everyday life behind you and listen to the gentle sound of the waves in a hammock.

The west coast lures with extensive, golden beaches and an impressive flora and fauna. One of the most beautiful places is Flic en Flac, where you can not only enjoy a wonderful beach, but also hope for unforgettable snorkeling experiences in the colorful coral gardens. This coastal region also offers spectacular sunsets that turn the sky warm shades of red.

Finally, the South Coast, with its dramatic rock formations and bohemian beaches, is a true feast for the senses. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Le Morne is an awe-inspiring site where the mighty Le Morne Brabant mountain rises against the azure sea. Here you can get the adrenaline flowing through your veins while surfing or kite surfing, or just enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the surroundings.

Mauritius offers a wealth of opportunities

Although it is difficult to choose the most beautiful place in Mauritius, every traveler can discover their own favorite. The island offers a wealth of opportunities to enjoy nature, discover culinary delights and immerse yourself in the culture of the locals. You shouldn't miss a visit to the vibrant capital Port Louis, as it is a melting pot of cultures and offers a fascinating insight into life in Mauritius.

Another notable place is the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, which is home to a stunning variety of plants and flowers, including the world-famous giant water lilies. The Chamarel Plain, known for its seven-colored earth and the spectacular Chamarel Waterfall, is also a must-see on this island.

In addition to the scenic beauty, Mauritius also offers numerous activities that will enrich your holiday experience. Immerse yourself in the colorful underwater world while snorkeling or diving, explore the fascinating hiking trails in Black River Gorges National Park or go on an exciting boat tour to observe dolphins and whales in the wild.

Committed to providing guests with a unique experience, Mauritius' luxurious hotels and resorts are unrivaled in beauty and comfort. Whether you choose an exclusive beach resort with infinity pools and world-class spas or prefer a charming boutique hotel nestled in a lush plantation, you'll definitely have an unforgettable time on this paradise island.

Where is it most beautiful in Mauritius?

My personal experiences and insider tips for the most beautiful places

On my unforgettable trip to Mauritius, I was lucky enough to experience some of the island's most breathtaking places. Here I would like to share my personal experiences and recommendations with you to give you an insight into the fascinating beauty of this paradisiacal island. In my opinion, the beaches in the northwest at Trou aux Biches and Grand Baie are true jewels of Mauritius.

During my time on the island, I spent most of my time in this picturesque region and was completely overwhelmed. The beaches are characterized by their powder-white sand and dazzling turquoise waters that sparkle in the sun. Mauritius is known for its beaches, and this part of the island impressively confirms that reputation.

However, the beaches around Belle Mare Plage in Poste de Flacq should not be overlooked. With their fine sand and crystal clear water, they are one of the hidden treasures of Mauritius. Here I spent hours relaxing in the sun, listening to the gentle waves and feeling the warm, salty sea breeze on my skin. Another place that left a deep impression on me is the majestic Le Morne Brabant in the southwest of Mauritius.

This iconic mountain, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is considered one of the most picturesque places on the island. The breathtaking view from the top of the mountain, where the azure waters of the Indian Ocean stretch to the horizon, is an unforgettable experience. On my ascent I was lucky enough to see dolphins dancing in the bay, which made the moment even more magical.

The most beautiful thing about Mauritius is snorkeling and diving in the water - you can see so many sea creatures such as turtles and dolphins in a very short time - simply amazing! Photo: Sascha Tegtmeyer

At the foot of Le Morne are luxurious hotels and resorts that, although expensive, are worth every penny. The first-class facilities and attentive service ensure an incomparable holiday experience. During my stay in this region I also visited the nearby beaches on Ile aux Benitiers. These untouched, natural beaches are a real insider tip for anyone who wants to experience the real Mauritius. These are my personal recommendations for the most beautiful places in Mauritius.

Of course, there are countless other corners on the island waiting to be discovered. But in my experience, Trou aux Biches, Grand Baie, Belle Mare Plage and Le Morne Brabant are truly incomparable beauties that will give every visitor an unforgettable stay. They are the perfect starting point for anyone who wants to search for the answer to the question: Mauritius - Where is the most beautiful place?
