On a dream beach? No, Thailand is full of wonderfully beautiful beaches and bays where holidaymakers can sunbathe and go swimming. Some time ago we traveled through the country for several weeks and got to know some of these dream beaches. We have been to some of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and “tested” them for you.

To be honest, such a ranking of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand is just complete rubbish. For the following reason: As soon as a bay appears in such a ranking, it is no longer an insider tip and is gradually overrun by more and more tourists. Do you think I'm exaggerating? The most famous example here is probably the infamous Maya Bay in Koh Phi Phi, which is now closed because it was overrun by so many tourists and suffered such severe environmental damage that has been irreparable for years. And that's a bit of a dilemma. On the one hand, everyone should of course enjoy the wonderful beaches, but on the other hand, the environmental damage is enormous.

The 7 most beautiful beaches in Thailand – a small selection for your beach holiday in Thailand

The beaches in Thailand are often so incredibly beautiful that it is actually impossible to say which bay is the most beautiful and which is the second most beautiful. This is to a large extent a question of individual taste. To find one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand, in many places you just have to get on a moped and drive around a bit. You will definitely discover your personal favorite. It's a little easier with our very selective list of dream beaches in Thailand.

It doesn't always have to be the most remote insider tip. On the most beautiful beaches in the country you can simply lie in the sun, swim, bathe, sometimes stand up paddle board or surf and often have a good snorkel. 1. Kata Noi Beach - Phuket

Kata Noi Beach is also really beautiful, no question about it! In principle, Kata Noi is the third and smallest of three bays: Patong Beach, where the infamous amusement mile is located. Next to it is Karon Beach, which is much more civilized and well-groomed. The third and smallest bay is Kata Noi Beach, a few hundred meters long sandy beach where the fine sandy beach drops into turquoise water. The downside: Everything is full of package tourists.

The beach is in the middle of town and is very popular. The advantage: You can really devote yourself to water sports. Stand Up Paddling and surfing are really fun here. You can easily borrow boards and get started.

2. Ya Nui Beach near Nai Harn Beach - Phuket

When we hit Nai Harn Beach Phuket discovered, we were just traveling from Rawai to Karon. As we came over the top of a hill and headed into the next valley, we immediately slammed on the brakes. Because Nai Harn Beach is simply one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand and could easily have taken first place. All criteria are met: shallow, turquoise water and two small stretches of beach separated by a small rock. So beautiful, you will love it! There aren't that many annoying tourists for a beach in Thailand. Definitely one of Phuket's dream beaches and a dream beach in Thailand.

3. Sunrise Beach - Koh Lipe

Koh Lipe and their neighbors are definitely the Maldives of Thailand. A tropical island dream with everything that goes with it. The island of Koh Lipe is surrounded by beautiful beaches and Sunrise Beach on Koh Lipe is certainly one of the most beautiful of them. Crystal clear water, fine sandy beach and traditional Thai boats make the beach a magnet for beach fans. Small drawback: There is a lot going on there rubbish Washed up - also similar to the Maldives.

Luckily, there are regular beach cleanups that make this dream beach in Thailand the absolute first choice when heading south from Phuket in the Andaman Sea. Sunrise Beach on Koh Lipe is only in third place in the ranking and is still definitely one of the most beautiful beaches in Thailand.

4. Koh Ngai Beach

The beach with the cryptic name Phra Nang Beach is located in Krabi and ranks fourth in the ranking. The tourists are thrilled about this beach, but also let you know that it can get crowded. We were not there ourselves, but the pictures look gorgeous.

5. Railay Beach - Krabi: remote dream scenery

Railay Beach in Krabi is known from films and photos. It is basically the epitome of the Thai dream beach. If there is a quality feature for a dream beach in Thailand that is: not for everyone and only accessible by long-tail boat, then Railay Beach would have won. However, it is only enough for fifth place in the Travellers' Choice Awards.

6. Freedom Beach - Phuket

Freedom Beach seems to be very popular with Phuket fans. He is one of them most beautiful beaches on Phuket. They voted the beach sixth in the Dream Beach Thailand ranking. Freedom Beach is located on Phuket, but like Railay Beach, it is most easily reached by boat - or after a strenuous hike through the jungle.

7. Haad Yao Koh Phangan

Hach, Koh Phangan. The fact that a beach of this dream island voted only in seventh place is more than tragic. Because Koh Phangan has a whole range of dream beaches that look very similar and some of which deserve the title of the most beautiful beach in Thailand. And although the island has become world famous thanks to the monthly Fullmoon Party and the wonderful diving spots on Koh Phangan, there are still little explored and developed corners in many parts of the island, such as Thong Nai Pan Noi on Koh Phangan and other beautiful dream beaches.

For example, we went to Bottle Beach. The beach is so remote that you hardly discover the next larger town. And if you want to go there with your moped, you're going to get into serious trouble: it's a dirt track with a gradient of 20 percent in places, on which you can hardly stop. Even walking down there is a bit of a disaster. The only ray of hope: the way down is much worse than the other way around. You will be rewarded with adventure and a dream beach in Thailand.
