But is the sound of the Bose QC35 (II) also convincing at home, on vacation and while doing sports?

How good is the sound of the Bose QC35 II?

The Bose Quietcomfort QC35 (II) is used by users in all imaginable applications. I have tested in very different situations: in the office while writing, while working out in the fitness center and traveling while flying. If you are traveling by plane, you will discover several of these headphones without exaggeration on some flights. Hardly any headphones are more common in my everyday life than the Bose QC36 (II). One might assume accordingly that the multiplicity of the users can not be mistaken and see this as indication, that the headphone really belongs to the best in the market. But as far as the sound is concerned, the ghosts are different, as is often the case - the assessment of the sound quality is sometimes subjective, sometimes even objectively possible.

Nobody buys an earphone because of its design, if the sound is not right. A normal Joe musician like me finds the sound of the Bose QC35 (II) really ingenious. Ambient noise is greatly reduced by Active Noise Canceling (ANC), and the sound of the music - provided the music is of sufficient quality - is simply awesome. With live recordings you have the feeling of being in the middle of a concert and studio recordings seem so clear to me that the ear can hardly follow the crystal-clear sound.

In my opinion, the sound of the Bose Quietcomfort QC35 II is perfect. The sound is clear and authentic. The powerful active noise canceling completely shuts out the world, even when listening to quiet music. It works so well that I even have to turn on the camera when working on my laptop to avoid being startled when someone approaches from behind. And it is precisely the outstanding ANC properties that make it perfect for travel: at the airport, on the plane, at the train station and on train journeys, just as naturally as on bus journeys, the noise-reducing headphones significantly reduce ambient noise. 

But if you are one of the ultimate sound experts, the Bose QC35 (II) will not convince you. As a rule, professional users don't think much of Bose headphones - they tend towards other products such as the Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H9 (3rd generation), which, however, can cost around twice as much (prices vary depending on the retailer and time of purchase).

In everyday life and especially in the office, the noise reduction of over-ear headphones depends on the situation. While engine noise is reduced well, the voices of people in the surrounding area can still be heard relatively clearly - at least as long as you don't listen to music. The ANC noise reduction is definitely brilliant on the plane. The noise from the engines is reduced very significantly. Anyone who wears the Bose QC35 II during the flight will experience noticeably lower noise levels. I've been wearing the earphones on every flight for a long time.

With the airline adapter, which is now optional, you can also easily access the on-board program with the headphones. Alternatively, you can of course also connect your own devices to the headphones. There is also the option (which I often use) of simply taking headphones with me on night flights, for example Active Noise Canceling to activate and not listen to music. Then it works better than ordinary earplugs. In the latter case, however, you should make sure that the Active Noise Canceling does not switch off after a few minutes to save energy - this setting can be made in the Bose Connect app on your smartphone.

How is the Bose QC35 II testing on the beach and pool?

If the Bose QC35 II performs so well at the airport and especially on the plane, the headphones shouldn't be much worse to use at the beach or pool. Or? Anyone who takes headphones to the beach should therefore be careful. Otherwise the expensive headphones will be full of small grains within a very short time. If you pay attention, you can make your beach vacation just a little bit better with over-ears. 

Bose Quietcomfort QC35 (II) – advantages and disadvantages

In my opinion, the advantages of headphones outweigh the disadvantages by far. The product is one of the best headphones on the market. If you look at the customer reviews on the Internet, the QC35 is one of the best rated headphones in the category. The Bose Connect app is a solid and relatively minimalist app that conveniently updates the headphone firmware. In addition, the app allows quick and easy switching between the connected Bluetooth devices. Theoretically, one could hear directly on the app also music on the headphones.

However, experience shows that this is rarely done in practice - everyone has to decide for themselves. In addition, smaller settings can be made - the noise reduction of the Bose QC35 II can be regulated over three different levels. Overall, a stable and successful app, but mainly used for firmware updates of the headphones.

In our opinion, the Bose Quietcomfort QC35 (II) is perfect for normal people who just want to listen to music in everyday life, during sporting activities and when traveling and keep the noise from the outside world as low as possible Choice.
