The name “App in the Air” is probably derived from the Hollywood film “Up in the Air,” in which actor George Clooney plays a jet-setting frequent flyer. The program looks pretty inconspicuous at first glance: the app symbol on the iPhone display does not indicate a travel app and looks more like a half-open garage on a light blue background. You then end up in a kind of timeline from which the user receives an overview of all flights currently entered and from which you can access various menus and your account.

Of course there are no flights initially. The user can easily add their trips using a + symbol: First the starting airport is selected, then the destination airport. Thirdly, the date of the flight, so that the system then automatically suggests all flights that take place between the two airports on the selected day - across all airlines and comprehensively. Code sharing partners are also displayed. From here the user can easily select the desired flight.

If there are problems with the selection, App in the Air offers the option of sending your flight data directly to the app's support and they will enter the data for the customer. In the overview menu of the selected flight you can get a lot of information such as the flight status, the time until check-in, the route, the travel weather, the estimated times at the security check and at the check-in as well as essential information about the airline such as the hotline telephone number, website and direct check-in Possibility.
