Travel Report Fehmarn - Tips for the beautiful Baltic Sea island

by

The Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn is not only one of the sunniest places in Germany, but also a wonderful holiday destination. Over 70 kilometers of idyllic and natural beaches, rustic villages, corners for kiting and surfing and many other exciting leisure activities make the island an exciting destination for a short vacation - or for a longer stay. I have visited the Baltic Sea island and in my travel report from Fehmarn I am giving you tips and inspiration for a great stay in the far north.

Table of Contents show

The first iconic Fehmarn moment is always when the A1 motorway ends and the Fehmarnsund Bridge appears in the distance. Even as a child, I loved going to the island, looking over the sound and knowing: This is Germany's sunniest island; only a few places in Central Europe get more hours of sunshine. Fehmarn is not a hotspot - not a hyped Sylt - or a place like that Scharbeutz, which is all about "seeing and being seen".

The destination is fundamentally down-to-earth and ideal for those who don't have to prove anything on vacation, just want to relax and enjoy their free time - no posing or showing off necessary, just Detox, relaxation and well-being. Quaint little places, lots of nature, wonderful beaches and numerous good restaurants await you. In my travel report from Fehmarn I have given you tips on sights and activities for an excellent one island holiday for your convenience.

Overview - What distinguishes the Baltic Sea island of Fehmarn?

  • the island has over 70 kilometers of natural beaches
