The small town of Cochem on the Moselle is a picturesque and idyllic travel destination for a vacation in Germany. The region with the river, the vineyards, the traditional architecture as well as the castles and palaces is perfect for a few relaxing days in between. I was on the road for you and in my travel report from Cochem I collected tips on sights and activities for your vacation on the Moselle.
Picturesque is probably the right word to best describe the small town of Cochem on the Moselle - because it means picturesque and fairytale-like. The town seems to have stepped straight out of a fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm. The castle that sits enthroned on the hill above the city, the historic buildings and half-timbered houses and the Moselle, which divides the town into two halves.
When you come from Hamburg, where everything is flat and the landscape is quite monotonous, one thing comes to mind Place, which is as beautiful as Cochem, really gives you that holiday feeling. When I was at the Nürburgring to watch a car race, I lived in Cochem during that time and enjoyed the time there with delicious food and lots of wine. In my Travelogue About Cochem I will introduce you to the most important sights and leisure activities around the small town.

Travel report Cochem Mosel – one of the most beautiful regions in Germany?
My conclusion
Germany has many beautiful corners - that much is clear. And the region on the Moselle around Cochem is definitely one of them. It has an attractive landscape with vineyards, quaint towns and lots of nature for hiking, walking and doing sports. I have to say that I am really positively surprised and could hardly have imagined that I could escape from everyday life like that on a holiday in Germany.
Because - as I said - if you come from the far north, the attractive landscape of the Eifel region seems a bit exotic and you can easily forget everyday life. In my travelogue Cochem I tried to bring you a little closer to the small town and the region. My short vacation on the Moselle has definitely brought me closer to the area and I will definitely spend one or the other vacation day in the Eifel in the future.
