In 2018, we probably experienced the summer of the century - with sunshine from April to September. But it becomes clear here: You can't rely on anything! You can experience a rainy, autumnal summer on the Baltic Sea or a summery autumn. Luck just has to play a part.

8. Shopping and sightseeing in Lübeck: For the rainy days

From Lübeck Bay in the eponymous city of Lübeck, it is only a stone's throw: At the latest after a quarter of an hour you are by car from Scharbeutz or Timmendorfer beach in this really commendable city. If you are less interested in culture, you can go shopping in Lübeck wonderful: You can find all the usual shops and brands in the old town and in the surrounding streets. We were very impressed by the Hüxstraße, which exudes a bit of the flair of a big city scene district with its small, lovingly run shops and restaurants.

There is also a spacious beach and a nice little promenade with the sailing ship “Passat”. A visit to Travemünde is definitely a successful change in the autumn vacation.
