Heart rate monitor tests – We check current smartwatches for athletes
For us, it all started when we went traveling with the smartwatch and noticed how practical the little assistant on the wrist was. That's why we've been testing new heart rate monitors for some time now and will of course tell you in detail about which smartwatches and outdoor watches are best for traveling and on vacation. When the first wave of smartwatches rolled out in 2015, many people had them Apple Watch like Apple Watch Series 9, Samsung Galaxy Watch and Co. dismissed as expensive toys. Meanwhile, the Gadgets but has certainly developed into a really important and, in some situations, life-saving companion for travelers.
The latest generation of watches can not only measure pulse and heart rate, but can even produce an ECG. The smart smartwatch also monitors the wearer's heart in the background for dangerous atrial fibrillation and warns the user if there are any heart irregularities. This is definitely the next level of heart rate monitors. And that's not all. Current Outdoor watches For example, they can detect falls and, in the event of an emergency, initiate an emergency call to protect the user.
In our extensive heart rate monitor tests, we have especially those Apple Watch tormented. We wore the smartwatch while swimming seawater, surfing and SUP, riding, jogging with the Apple Watch, while traveling and even in the Sauna tried out. The robust watch has lasted well so far.
Alternatives – outdoor watches, fitness watches and watches for adventurers?
There used to be many different categories of these useful watches. One of these was the heart rate monitor. Meanwhile, the watch categories are merging more and more. Since the introduction of the smartwatch, many other types of watches have been included. A sophisticated smartwatch is also mostly an outdoor watch, Watch for adventurers , Fitness watch and digital assistant in one. The smartwatches sometimes fuse with the mechanical ones Watches such as diving watches, pilot watches and surfer watches. The first hybrid models are now coming onto the market, which include the advantages of both a mechanical automatic watch and a smartwatch. Overall, these different watch categories always set different accents - but the ideas behind them are relatively similar. In this respect, heart rate monitors can now easily be classified as smartwatches.
Buy heart rate monitors cheaply – the price range is large
The price range of modern heart rate monitors is quite large. The cheapest models are already available for 39 Euro. Many current heart rate monitors in the form of smartwatches are priced in the range between 200 and 400 Euro, the middle price range is between about 400 and 1000 Euro and the premium versions cost more than 1000 Euro. Often the prices are rising with high-quality materials such as titanium and sapphire crystal, but also with new technologies such as a solar panel under the display that automatically recharges the clock. With good SmartWatch Care But these models usually last quite a long time.
Heart rate monitors – Wearables record much more than heart rate
My conclusion
Heart rate monitors are not a new phenomenon, but they are a mature one. This type of sports watch and fitness tracker has been around since the XNUMXs and has been continually developed and improved over the past few decades. Modern heart rate monitors are therefore incredibly precise and can determine the heart rate incredibly accurately. The next stage of development is recording an ECG and consistently checking the heart for dangerous atrial fibrillation. With these new, essential functions, the heart rate monitors have been taken to a new level.
More and more models include these important features. Accordingly, heart rate monitors seem to be developing more and more into a holistic health gadget that, on the one hand, is incredibly useful in everyday life and during sports, but is also absolutely justified as a vacation gadget and an essential part of travel equipment. What was considered a superfluous toy a few years ago has now developed into a real health aid. We can't wait to see how heart rate monitors will develop in the future.
