In my opinion it is most beautiful, of course, by the sea - that is, on the Baltic Sea coast of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. My personal opinion about it: Scharbeutz is a very nice place. I lived there for a couple of years. In recent years, however, the resort in the Bay of Lübeck has unfortunately become more of a destination for mass tourism and is degenerating more and more into an overpriced fancy holiday resort, whose construction boom is driving real estate prices and rents to unaffordable heights. On the one hand, Scharbeutz has become more modern and visually appealing, but on the other hand it has lost a lot of authenticity, is becoming more and more expensive and is now overcrowded in summer, but also all year round, because it has received such a strong media presence and is hyped. From then on, Scharbeutz is still very beautiful.
