Travel, vacation and outdoor sports are very closely linked - because hardly anyone can or wants to pursue their hobby exclusively at home. In addition, adventure calls. It constantly demands attention. That's why we travel. Traveling is usually an extremely intimate affair because nowhere do we act so much according to our tastes and inclinations - and so meticulously - as when planning and executing vacations. With almost surgical precision, we try to maximize the moments of pleasure - and sometimes act pretty awkwardly.
If you look at the attempts of holidaymakers to get the most out of their trip, to simulate relaxation, recreation and enjoyment while at the same time producing sixteen Instagram selfies per second, you sometimes feel like you are in a satirical show. “You have them everywhere” was one of the sentences from a vacationing couple who - even at seven in the morning - were lying on the lounger Hotel beach As evidenced, coming to the beach from the buffet with rolls wrapped in napkins - got upset about another couple's portable music box and complained to the hotel management.
In hotels it's everyday madness, believe me. And where madness reigns, only therapy helps. Every now and then a travel column – a column about Destinations, Travel and Vacation – writing is my treatment for somehow coping with the everyday craziness of traveling. And for you, my dear readers, an entertaining chance to get a new, hopefully somewhat amusing perspective from time to time.

Hello, I am Sascha Tobias Tegtmeyer from Hamburg – and a real beach child with heart and soul! Sea fan, travel lover and always up for an adventure. On my travel blog Just-Wanderlust.com and the social media channels of Strandkind Travels, I combine my love of traveling and nature with a passion for water sports such as stand-up paddling, diving and surfing. I am a journalist, author and blogger - and I am naturally curious when I get to know new travel destinations and then write about them in detail. As a technology fan, when I'm traveling with my family or alone, I'm always happy to bring a few travel gadgets with me for testing purposes. My favorite travel countries, which I also prefer to write about in my travel blog: USA, Thailand and Maldives.

Travel blogs, selfie craze and holiday bullshit bingo
Hardly any other topic is currently being written about as much as about travel and vacation: The Internet is literally showering us with vacation tips, travel reports, bargain offers and everything that potential explorers need to go on a trip around the world. Package holidaymakers are already ostracized in principle. It has to be more and more exotic and unusual: What was unusual a short time ago is now standard. Every holiday photo, no matter how insignificant, ends up in social media: selfies here, Instagram videos there. The main thing is that everyone can see that we're not actually sitting around at home watching Netflix all day.
Instead, we write as much as we can and report extensively on every blade of grass that we have discovered on our travels. "The best Massaman curry I've ever eaten" - precisely because we're urbane and have eaten so many Massaman curries in so many different places. And anyway, sushi is only real in Japan. You know what I mean.
Travel column – just tell the felt truth
That's why we need a mouthpiece where we can just say what's on the tip of our tongues - a travel column where we can freely share our opinions on bitchy beach goers, bumbling backpackers and wannabe surfers who annoy us , spread – us, who of course behave much better, with more understatement and more skilfully than all the others – or not, because in the end it's jumped like jumped whether we are silent and enjoy, or the whole world with our wonderful , unique experiences on the Senkel.
If no one would report on their travels and great vacations, it wouldn't be right either. The matter is obviously complicated. Whether you're climbing the mountain to climb it or taking a selfie at the top and telling the world about your climb. The main thing is that you feel well entertained.
